Serene Ong

Serene Ong has 19 years of business development, healthcare and clinical trial experience with start-up companies, pharma, venture capital, hospital and major global clinical trial organizations in US, Europe and Singapore. She is now the Vice President of Commercial Operations, Asia Pacific for Marken, and was most recently the Vice President of Business Development, Asia Pacific for Syneos (previously inVentiv Health), a global provider of healthcare, clinical and pharma consulting to biopharmaceutical clients. Prior to that, Serene held senior executive positions in various companies including Head of Strategic Development, Asia Pacific at PRA Health Sciences (formerly ReSearch Pharmaceutical Services Inc) and Manager of Global Sales at iQvia (formerly Quintiles) where she honed her skills in the clinical research industry spanning sales, marketing and business development. Having worked extensively in the clinical research side of the business, Serene brings a unique perspective of this portion of the supply chain to her position. This experience makes it possible for Marken to compete effectively in every link of the clinical trial supply chain from manufacturing to diagnostics and develop optimized supply chain and protocol design solutions for its customers. She is a Singaporean trained pharmacist, based in Singapore, with more than a decade of experience in regional roles. As a happily married mother of 6 children ranging from 1 year to 14 years old, Serene recently completed her EMBA at INSEAD. She also graduated with a Masters of Science (Pharmacy) from the National University of Singapore and a Minor in Technopreneurship from Stanford University.
